In the Temple of Light:
Seeing Yourself Become Bhairava

An Intensive Workshop with Dr. Joe Loizzo and Mary Reilly Nichols

This intensive workshop is for those familiar with the highest yoga tantra practice of Yamantaka (a.k.a. Vajrabhairava), who want to deepen their understanding and experience of its fierce wisdom and magnificent art.

We honor its syncretic sources—in the Nalanda tradition of Manjushri and the Shaivite tradition of Bhairava—as well as its technical power as Tantra 2.0: a synthesis of the two classical systems of Buddhist tantra—father and mother—based on the paradigms of Guhyasamaja and Chakrasamvara.

We then unpack the practice of the creative transformation stage, from the prerequisites and environment to following the performance script and savoring its results. Finally, we will map this virtual transformation onto the neural alchemy of the perfection stage, and taste some of the blissful airs and nectars with the help of yogic stretching, breathing, and chanting.

Prerequisites: initiation into the mandala of Solitary Hero or Thirteen Deity Yamantaka.
