Sustainable Happiness Retreat: Freeing Insight: The Art of Self-Inquiry
February 13, 2016 @ 10:00 am - 5:00 pm$80
e Two Retreat in the Four-Year Program in Sustainable Happiness
with Geri Loizzo and Mary Reilly Nichols
This retreat reviews how contemplative practice actually supports healing insight, motivation, and life-change. Throughout the day, we’ll weave together yoga and meditation to explore the Indic map of the mind and its factors – cognitive, perceptual, and emotional. It empowers practitioners to apply the insights of the four noble truths to expose the moment-to-moment causes, conditions and choices that help shift the course of daily life from suffering to happiness.
We’ll use the step-by-step method of contemplative insight taught in the Nalanda tradition, to enrich learning and reflection, build positive motivation, and foster deep awareness and transformative action in our lives; and practice embodying that insight through the yogic arts of breath, movement, and sound.
The retreat is open to all, whether or not you’ve taken the preceding course.
An associated course precedes this retreat and may be taken separately
Mary Reilly Nichols spent five years in residence in the ashrams of Swami Muktananda. She serves on the faculty of the Nalanda Institute, is a member of the Bronxville Psychiatric Wellness Group, and has been practicing and teaching yoga, meditation and stress management professionally since 1982.
